I cut the cable to length (with a little extra to allow for easy crimping of the pins and installation of the backshell) and crimped on the Sub-D pins.
Then I inserted the pins in the connector and recorded which wire went were and installed the backshell.
The same procedure followed on the other end of the cable.
Plugging in the cable and securing it was not that easy as you might think. The thumbscrews would have helped if the thumb would have actually be able to get to the screws. After a bit of wiggling it was done anyway.
Slitted screws would have been easier than thumbscrews!
Connecting the ADSB-in box was much easier.
Temporary antenna hook-up and smoke test will follow tomorrow.
