Panel Not Quite Done

And then the Altitude Indicator arrived and showed me that I wasn't quite ready for painting the panel yet. Here is the piece of equipment.

A fine piece of Chinese Aircraft Instrument manufacture!

A similar instrument from United was $1600, so I took my chance with this Falcon altimeter. A trial fit showed me that the little extrusion off the ring pattern around the pressure dial needs some careful Dremel work to clear the panel.

I got a rough shape from the back side but this in no way accurate, so I will take my time on this trimming work. I don't want to mess up the panel so close to the goal line now...
